Report: Woman files complaint against ex-Likud minister for sex crimes

Silvan Shalom, the longtime Likud politician who served as foreign minister and finance minister in various governments, is now under police investigation for sexual harassment after an alleged victim filed a complaint with law enforcement, Army Radio reported on Monday.
This is the first time that an official complaint has been submitted against Shalom, who quit politics after press reports indicated that a slew of women recalled instances of alleged sexual wrongdoing.
Shalom, who was reportedly considering a run for president before the media firestorm erupted, denied the accusations while waiting for police to conduct an initial probe into the allegations.
Army Radio reported on Monday that after a four-month inquiry, authorities managed to amass enough evidence to move ahead on possible criminal charges. One woman who claims to have been harassed by Shalom during an encounter three years ago is now prepared to press charges.
