Reports: Ja'abri, Zahar headed to Damascus for Schalit talks

Amid speculation of an impending deal for the release of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, Arab media reported that Ahmed Ja'abri, commander of Hamas's military wing, left Cairo for Damascus on Thursday morning. According to the reports, senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar also traveled to Syria with Ja'abri. The last time Ja'abri was in Egypt for negotiations was at the end of Ehud Olmert's term in office, when the two sides reportedly came close to a prisoner exchange deal.
