An IDF soldier was killed in battle in Gaza, the army announced Friday. It named the fallen soldier as 36-year-old Sgt.-Ma. Yair Ashkenazy, from Rehovot. Ashkenazy served in the reserves brigade of the Bahad 1 officer training base. Ashkenazy is the thirty third IDF fatality since the start of the ground offensive last week.
