Reservists sign petition urging government to do more to bring back the bodies of missing soldiers

Over 400 reservists have signed a petition hoping to put more pressure on the government to bring back the bodies of missing IDF soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul believed to be held by Hamas in Gaza.
Addressed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu it states that they, “reservists who wholeheartedly serve the State of Israel” are “deeply disappointed by the conduct of the Israeli government” under his leadership in terms of returning the bodies of the missing soldiers who have been held for over two years.
“The responsibility for the failures lies with the elected officials who have failed in this mission” of bringing back all of its soldiers, “living, wounded or dead to their families and the land of Israel,” the petition read.
According to the signatories, the covenant between the state, IDF and the families of soldiers to bring home every soldier from the battlefield is at “risk of crumbling”  and therefore “threatens every reserve soldier.”
“We demand that comprehensive changes be made in the practical conduct of the government and that it will place this issue at the top of its priorities and act in a determined manner to make it clear to Hamas and other enemies that they will pay a heavy price for the despicable act of holding the bodies of the IDF fighters.”
The petition, titled “Reservists with the boys,” was launched on April 1rst and aims to get 25,000 signatories.
