Rivlin: After Schalit deal, Israel's eyes are on Pollard

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin asked US Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro on Tuesday to encourage US President Barack Obama to release Jonathan Pollard from prison.

"After the Schalit deal, the people of Israel expect Pollard to return to his home," Rivlin said. "The Knesset has turned to the US government many times, and will continue in its efforts to free Pollard."

Rivlin also said that the deal in which Gilad Schalit was released from Hamas captivity "could not have happened without the US's help."
