'The blacking out of a television channel casts a shadow on Israeli democracy, especially now, prior to an election,' President Reuven Rivlin said on Monday. 'Given the the limited competition in Israeli media, we cannot allow ourselves to lose a station during a time when we are required to be exposed to a broad range of opinions,' he added Rivlin said that a solution should be found to Channel 10's financial crisis that would prevent the closing of the station, even if only until the forming of the next government.
