Rivlin says he'll review any new clemency request for Katsav

President Reuven Rivlin on Sunday said he would review any new request for clemency filed on behalf of former president Moshe Katsav who is serving a seven-year jail sentence for rape.
"When it is filed the president will consider it as he considers all other requests for clemency, after receiving the reviews of all the relevant source," read a statement issued by Rivlin's office after reports of a new clemency request that sources close to Katsav say pertains to his declining mental health.
The reports of the new clemency request came after the former president was denied early parole in early April.
Katsav had asked to be released after having served two-thirds of his sentence.
