Ronit and Shlomit Elkabetz’s Gett wins top prize at Ophir Awards

Ronit and Shlomit Elkabetz’s Gett: The Trial of Vivian Amsalem, an indictment of Israel’s antiquated divorce laws, won the Best Picture Award at the Ophir Awards, the prizes of the Israel Academy for Film and Television, which were presented in a ceremony in Ashdod on Sunday night.
Because of its win in the Best Picture Category, Gett will become Israel’s official selection to be considered for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
