Russian FM in Istanbul before Iran nuclear talks

ISTANBUL— Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Turkey on Wednesday, prior to talks between Iran and world powers in Istanbul over Teheran's uranium enrichment program.
The Anatolia news agency says Lavrov will discuss new cooperation opportunities as well as regional issues. His visit comes before Iran's Jan. 21-22 nuclear talks with the US, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China in Istanbul.
The six powers have been trying to get Iran to address growing international concerns, especially by the US and its Western allies, that it is pursuing nuclear weapons — not nuclear energy as the government insists.
