Sa'ar: I doubt the yeshiva proposal would stand legal test

Minister Gideon Sa'ar on Sunday said that he doubts the current proposal to reform yeshiva student stipends "would stand a legal test," referring to the Supreme Court decision that said secular students were discriminated against because they did not receive the same stipends as kollel students.
Sa'ar added that the current decision, to be implemented only in five years, "would not apply to 90% of yeshiva students over the age of 29, who receive income support." He said he feared the public's cost would rise.
