Sanders vows to stay in race despite odds

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders vowed to continue to run for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential campaign despite losing a number of primaries Tuesday evening and being mathematically eliminated from contention, according to projections provided by the Associated Press earlier in the week.
While Sanders was projected to win Democratic primaries in Montana and North Dakota, he had lost races in New Mexico, New Jersy and South Dakota during Tuesday's races.
Sanders was also trailing Democratic rival Hillary Clinton by nearly 400,000 votes in California as he was making his statements.
