Deputy Defense Minster Matan Vilna'i briefed the security cabinet Wednesday on home front preparedness, specifically on the state of the country's siren and warning systems.
The briefing came a few months after a major drill throughout the country where the sirens were sounded to check whether they were working properly. During the Second Lebanon War a number of deficiencies emerged out in the country's siren and warning system.
Vilna'i discussed technological advances made in this area, as well as procurement and deployment issues.
