In order to end the wave of terror that has stretched for six months, Israel should expel family members of terrorists from the country, Intelligence Services Minister Israel Katz, who is a member of the security cabinet, told Channel 2's Meet the Press program Saturday night.
Katz said the phenomenon of lone attackers who are not part of a terrorist group required a new approach and additional steps to what Israel has done until now. "We must add expelling the families of terrorists in order to deter lone terrorists," he said.
"I am convinced that after two expulsions, this terror will end." Katz said demolitions of terrorists' homes was effective but its impact was neutralized by funding for new homes provided by the Palestinian Authority and the government of Iran.
He said only the threat of expulsions would cause parents to take action to prevent their children from carrying out attacks.
