Security forces kill two militants in Indian Kashmir

Security forces and local police on Saturday killed two militants in a joint operation in India's northern Jammu and Kashmir province.
Security forces launched an operation in Amargarh village of Baramulla following information about the presence of militants in the area.
Baramulla senior superintendent of police, Imtiyaz Hussain, said the encounter broke out during the cordon and search operations, resulting in the killing of two militants.
"While the vehicle was being intercepted, the militants fired upon at the joint police and army parties and in retaliatory fire, two terrorists got killed," said Hussain.
The identity and group affiliation was not yet ascertained, added Hussain.
One AK-47 rifle and one pistol were recovered from the slain militants.
The entire area has been cordoned off by the security forces and combing operations are underway.
