Senior official: Iran funded the rockets fired at Israel

A senior Israeli defense official said Friday that the rockets fired at Israel on Thursday were backed by Iranian money.
"The firings yesterday evening were carried out by an Islamic Jihad terror ring, which works thanks to financing and artillery from Iran," the official said.
The official said that Syrian President Basher Assad is partly responsible for the attacks. "The rocket firings were made from land controlled by Assad forces, allowing acts of terror to be commited against Israel."
"We will not tolerate attempts to disturb Israel's authority and damage the security of its citizens. We will respond with force to anyone who tries to challenge us."
