Senior U.S. official: We are aware American citizen sentenced by PA

A senior US official told The Jerusalem Post's sister publication Maariv that the American government is aware that a Palestinian Authority court sentenced an American citizen to life in prison for selling land to Jews.

"We are aware of reports that a US citizen has been sentenced by a Palestinian court," the official said. "When a US citizen is incarcerated abroad, the US government works to provide all appropriate consular assistance."
