Seven cocaine dealers busted in Lod following undercover operation

Three months after an undercover police agent was deployed in the local drug scene in Lod, detectives from the YAMAR investigative unit arrested nine local drug dealers who they said had been running the local cocaine market for some time.
During the arrest raids, which were led by YAMAR Central District Commander Yigal Ben-Shalom, officers said they seized seven luxury cars and froze a number of bank accounts linked to the dealers.
Central District Commander Major General Bruno Stein, whose district includes the city which has long been one of the centers of Israel's drug trade, said that such operations are meant to target a major source of income for organized crime figures in the district.
The raids came four days after detectives from the district made a series of arrests in Kafr Kasim in the Triangle, targeting 16 suspects accused of running an arms ring that smuggled firearms from the West Bank and sold them on the black market across Israel.
