Shaked to US envoy: Recant claim Israel applies separate laws to Jews, Arabs

Dan Shapiro, the American ambassador to Israel, would be wise to “correct himself” and recant comments in which he accused the government of applying a different set of laws to Jews and Palestinians in the West Bank, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked told Army Radio on Tuesday.

The envoy infuriated the Israeli government with remarks to a defense conference in Tel Aviv on Monday questioning Israel’s vigilance in preventing Jewish vigilante attacks against Palestinians.
