Shalom: PM met Bennett last because he was sure of support

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met with Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett after the other party leaders because he was sure that the party would support him, Vice Premier Silvan Shalom (Likud) told Channel 2 on Friday night.
Discussing the problems the prime minister has had in forming a coalition, Shalom asserted that he is able to form a nationalistic government, but would prefer a wide coalition. "He wants to respect everyone," he added.
Shalom also said that it is unacceptable for Bennett to rule out sitting with both the haredi parties and Tzipi Livni's party.
