Shark reportedly kills snorkeler in Red Sea

A French travel agency said that a member of a group snorkeling in the Red Sea was killed in a shark attack. A statement from Aquarev quoted the president of a Paris diving club as saying that an oceanic whitetip shark attacked his diving partner. Yves Tiquet said that they were unable to save the victim of Monday's attack. Tiquet and Aquarev, which organized the trip, did not identify the victim. Neither was immediately available for comment on Wednesday. Experts at the University of Florida, which houses the International Shark Attack File, count four fatal shark attacks worldwide in 2008.
