Shas and UTJ vow to stand behind PM Benjamin Netanyahu in elections

Shas and United Torah Judaism have vowed that it will only enter a coalition with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the April 9 elections.
The party's chairman, Arye Deri, met with UTJ leader Ya'acov Litzman on Thursday when the decision was made.
"We will continue our firm support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and not with [Blue and White leader Benny] Gantz," the two said in a statement. "We will enter as one bloc and in a common unity. We will only enter a coalition that Netanyahu will form... We will not conduct any negotiations and talk about a coalition that will include Yair Lapid in any situation."
The heads of the parties agreed on cooperation in the current election campaign, in which they would work as closely as possible and help one another to succeed in the campaign in hopes to increase the haredi representation in the next Knesset.
