Shaul Meridor named budget director

The Finance Ministry on Sunday night named Shaul Meridor as its next budget director.
Meridor currently serves as director-general of the Ministry of Energy, and he previously served in the budgetary division from 2002 to 2013. In his last position in the finance ministry, Meridor served as deputy director of budgets for energy, water, transport and agriculture.
Meridor graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem with a degree in PPE – philosophy, political science and economics.
He is replacing Yoel Naveh, who has served as interim head of the budget department for the past three months.
The appointment of Meridor will be submitted to the government soon for approval.
