Singer Martelly wins Haiti election with 67 percent of vote

PORT-AU-PRINCE - Singer Michel Martelly won Haiti's presidential election with 67.57 percent of the vote, compared with 31.74 percent for rival Mirlande Manigat, according to official preliminary results released on Monday.
Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council announced the preliminary results from the March 20 run-off election. These initial results can be subjected to legal challenges and have to undergo a disputes process before being declared definitive later in April.
