Singer, poet Gil Scott-Heron passes away at 62

Singer-songwriter, poet Gil Scott-Heron died on Friday at 62. The poet-musician is considered by many to be one of the founders of the hip-hop music movement.
Scott-Heron is best known for his anthem "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," first recorded in 1970 on the album Small Talk at 125th and Lenox. Scott-Heron continued to record through the next two decades before take an extended break from music. He most recently recorded 2010's critically acclaimed I'm New Here.
