Six lives saved by transplants over Rosh Hashana, over 1,000 still waiting

The consent by two families to donate the organs of their deceased loved ones saved the lives of six people on the eve of Rosh Hashana, Israel Transplant reported on Wednesday.
The operations were performed at Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva and Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. Large medical teams were called in to perform the surgeries.

Among the patients was Moshe Hajaj, 61, who had waited four years for a kidney transplant. Other recipients received livers, lungs and kidneys.
