Social workers, Treasury meeting fails to make progress

The meeting between social workers and Treasury representatives held Tuesday evening at the Histadrut building in Tel Aviv failed to make progress, as the social workers strike concluded its third day.
The main sticking point in the negotiations continued to be the guarantee that some 5,000 social workers currently employed in the private sector would also be part of the deal.
The strike will enter its fourth day on Wednesday as social workers continue to protest over the government’s failure to meet their demands for a salary increase and improved work conditions.
