South Korea says military to step up monitoring of North Korea

South Korea's defense ministry said on Wednesday that the country's armed forces are stepping up their monitoring of North Korea after the isolated country said it successfully conducted a test of a miniaturized nuclear device.
Separately, South Korea's Yonhap News agency said President Park Geun-hye will preside over a national security council meeting at 0430 GMT.
