Speaker, finance minister to discuss Arrangements bill

Knesset speaker Yuli Edelstein will meet with Finance Minister Moshe Kachlon at Edelstein’s office in the Parliament on Sunday afternoon to discuss the controversial Arrangements bill, which must be passed soon. The bill will soon be brought to votes in the Knesset finance committee and the plenum, despite the Parliament being on an extended summer recess.

The Cabinet and the Knesset must complete the process of approving of the 2015-2016 state budget and the accompanying Arrangements bill by Nov. 15 to prevent the government for automatically following apart. The Arrangements bill has been criticized recently as an albatross bill in which dozens of unrelated funding proposals are thrown in randomly.
