Spokesman for Egyptian President Mubarak: Iran not a danger

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's spokesman said Egypt sees Mideast peace as the region's top priority and not Iran's nuclear program. Israel has said Iran's nuclear ambition is the region's most pressing issue. Suleiman Awwad's remarks come only few days before US President Barack Obama travels to the Middle East to address regional conflicts including Arab-Israeli peace and Iran. Awwad said Sunday that Egypt is pushing for a two-state solution for the Arab-Israeli conflict. In recent weeks, Israeli officials have suggested that Iran's nuclear ambitions must take precedence over the peace process.
