State indicts man who jumped fence into Lebanon

The Haifa District Attorney's Office on Thursday filed an indictment against Simon Sa'dati in the Acre Magistrate's Court for leaving the country illegally, following his recent dramatic incursion into Lebanon which temporarily both confused and transfixed the country.
The indictment states that at 2:45 p.m. on May 1, Sa'adati, 36, climbed the fence on the Lebanese border and entered into Lebanese territory.
According to a report in the Beirut-based Daily Star, Sa'dati jumped over the border fence south of the city of Nakoura, where the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon is located.
The state has requested to remand Sa'adati to police custody until the end of the proceedings citing his alleged dangerous and unpredictable behavior in crossing into Lebanon.
