Steinitz calls on US to delay signing deal with Iran as deadline nears

National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz called on the United States to delay signing an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, which he described as "a deal full of loopholes that will serve the Iranians."
Steinitz met with US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz in Washington on Saturday, where he said Iran must be denied the ability to develop new centrifuges throughout the duration of the deal.
This "could shorten its breakout time to achieve nuclear weapons – from a year to six months," the former intelligence minister said.
He added: "Without quick access to the military compounds in Iran the clause outlining supervision over its facilities will be rendered meaningless."
