Steinitz to Ban: Don't allow mistakes made with N. Korea to repeat with Iran

The mistakes made in negotiations with North Korea that allowed it to develop nuclear weapons must not be repeated with Iran, Strategic Affairs and Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz told UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday.
"As a citizen of South Korea that is under a real nuclear threat, you understand better than all of us the disastrous results of agreements based on gestures and delusions," Steinitz told Ban in their meeting following Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's speech at the UN General Assembly.
"North Korea has developed nuclear weapons despite two agreements signed with it that were lauded by the world," he added.
