Strauss to lower price of 36 products by 5-10 percent

Strauss Foods announced Sunday that it would be permanently lowering the price of 36 products by five to ten percent in response to the cottage cheese boycott against the high price of dairy products.

Among the products subject to a price reduction were cacao, Turkish coffee, cookies, wafers and various salads.

The company also announced that it would be freezing executive salaries and adding compensation for employees at the lowest salary levels.

"We understood that it wasn't enough to reduce prices for consumers, we also had to look at our 6,000 employees in Israel," Strauss CEO Zion Belles said.
