Suicide bomber killed, two police wounded in blast outside US consulate in Jeddah

RIYADH - A suicide bomber was killed and two other people wounded in a blast outside the US consulate in Saudi Arabia's second city of Jeddah early on Monday, state TV said.
The attacker parked his car outside a mosque opposite the consulate and shortly afterwards his device detonated, killing him and lightly wounding three security men nearby, state TV said.
In 2004 five people stormed the US consulate in Jeddah with bombs and guns, killing four Saudi security personnel outside and five local staff within. Three of the attackers were killed in the assault and two were captured.
