Syrian opposition welcomes EU decision to blacklist Hezbollah

The Syrian opposition expressed satisfaction on Tuesday with the EU's decision to blacklist Hezbollah's military wing, AFP reported.
The National Coalition called the decision "a step in the right direction" that "highlights the need for the European Union to take measures to stop (the) militia from intervening in Syria."
The regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, meanwhile, condemned the EU's decision.
"Syria strongly condemns this decision and the powers that are behind it because it targets the present and future of the Arab nation... and serves Israel's plans in the region," a statement by the Syrian foreign minister said.
