Taba Crossing into Sinai re-opened

The Taba Crossing into Sinai was opened to Israelis on Friday, 11 days after it was closed because of a concrete and immediate Islamic State terrorist threat against Israelis.
The rare decision to close the crossing came as some 20,000 Israelis were expected to visit Sinai during the Passover holiday. A further decision to keep it closed was renewed again on Tuesday, the day after Passover, but rescinded three days later.
Even though the crossing is now open, the National Security Council's Counter-Terrorism Bureau issued a statement saying that there remains a “grave, concrete and immediate” threat to Israelis in Sinai, and advised Israelis against visiting the area, and for those already there to leave immediately.
