Take Two: Palestinian govt takes second oath after using faulty text

The 23-member Palestinian government under Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh was sworn in again on Sunday after being sworn in on Saturday when it was discovered the oaths were taken using a faulty text.
The text omitted a sentence in which those sworn in vow to “respect the Palestinian people and their heritage.”
The government includes three women: Mai Salim al-Kila (health minister), Amal Hamad (women’s affairs minister) and Roula Mayaya (tourism and antiquities minister).
Fadi al-Hidmi, the former head of the east Jerusalem Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was appointed Jerusalem affairs minister. He is the only minister from east Jerusalem.
