Tal Mor given 12 years for hit-and-run death of cyclist

Tal Mor, convicted of killing a bicyclist in a hit-and-run accident while under the influence of drugs and alcohol in June, was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment at Petah Tikva District Court on Sunday morning.
Though the current penalty for hit-and- run drivers is nine years imprisonment, state prosecutors had requested that Mor receive a sentence of 14 years in prison.
During arguments for sentencing, Mor asked for the mercy of the court and expressed remorse for his actions.
Mor was also ordered to pay NIS 30,000 in reparations to the family of the man he killed, Shneor Cheshin.
