Gaby Lasky, the lawyer who represented Palestinian teenager Ahed Tamimi, who served an eight-month prison sentence for slapping an IDF soldier in December 2017, responded to Tamimi's release Sunday morning.
"I am happy that she's finally out," Lasky said. "She was incarcerated because of politics, rather than for legal reasons... Her slap was a loud slap in the face of the hasbara
[public diplomacy] of [the Israeli] occupation."
