Teddy Stadium to expand to 31,000 seats

The Jerusalem municipality announced Thursday a plan to increase Teddy Stadium’s capacity to 31,000 seats ahead of the 19th Maccabiah Games in the summer of 2013. The NIS 100 million plan is the first phase in a project that will eventually see Betar Jerusalem’s home accommodate 50,000.
The stadium’s last major renovation came in 1998, bringing it to its current capacity of 21,600.
