Teen stabs classmate with sharp tool in Rishon Lezion

A 16-year-old boy was stabbed Thursday morning after an altercation with a classmate at a school in Rishon LeZion.
Magen David Adom arrived at the scene and found the student had been minimally injured after being stabbed in the hand with a sharp tool, most likely a ruler.  Regardless of his minor injuries, the paramedics decided to transport the boy to Wolfson hospital in Holon for further treatment.
The suspect, a 13 -year-old boy, allegedly stabbed the victim during the course of a verbal altercation between the two. Police took the suspect into custody for further questioning.
Violence among Israeli youths seems to be a growing phenomenon. Two months ago, a 16-year-old student was stabbed multiple times in the chest and seriously wounded during a fight outside a local high school in Ashdod.
One day prior, a 14-year-old stabbed a classmate with a pair of scissors inside a classroom at the Herzliya Gymnasium high school in Tel Aviv.
