Tehina salad contaminated with listeria found

Listeria bacteria have been found in 330-gram packages of Shamir Salads’ tehina salad, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
Inspectors from the Food Service and Central District Health Office took samples of the product and found the bacteria, which can cause listeriosis -- a serious infection that can harm pregnant women, newborns babies, the elderly and adults of all ages suffering from weakened immune systems.
The expiry date of the affected tehina packages is 16.5.14. Anyone with such salad containers should not eat it; instead they should contact the company directly at (03) 9067744.
