Tel Aviv Mayor Huldai: Migrants should be made viable part of work force

Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai stressed Tuesday the importance of allowing the migrant community to become viable members of the work force.
Speaking at the Prime Minister's third annual Conference For the Development of Minority Communities in Israel, Huldai said "many of those who crossed the border in search of work will not disappear if it is shut down. Israel should realize that they are human beings and must be allowed their dignity as such."
Huldai added: "These many migrants comprise a productive work force; they can work and make a living. If we get involved in the process of supporting them, they can contribute to domestic growth and not be an imposition."
