Traffic Police revoke license of 250 drivers over weekend

The Traffic Police has revoked the licenses of 250 motorists over the weekend as part of an increased drive to stamp out driving offenses that endanger lives on the road.
Hundreds of police officers and volunteers took up undercover and overt positions during the enforcement operation, which was held throughout the country on Friday and Saturday.
One hundred and fifty vehicles were impounded during the operation as well.
In one case, a resident of Hod Hasharon, 18, was caught driving on Route 87 near the Golan driving at 182 kilometers an hour on a section of the road which, according to the law, has an 80 kilometer per hour speed limit.
