Transportation minister: El Al can schedule flights from TA to Eilat

For the first time, El Al will be permitted to schedule flights from Ben-Gurion International Airport to Eilat, according to a Monday decision by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz. Katz made the decision based on a Civil Aviation Authority recommendation, that the move would encourage competition between El Al, and carriers Arkia and Israir. The minister noted that the decision may also encourage Arkia and Israir to expand their international flights.
