The trial of Rawi Sultani, indicted over an alleged Hizbullah plot to assassinate IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, opened at the Petah Tikva District Court on Tuesday.
Sultani called the allegations against him "nonsense", arguing "it would all end in an acquittal." He further claimed that he "doesn't even know what Ashkenazi looks like."
The suspect's defense team's request to postpone the proceedings was granted, while his remand was extended until October 21.
