Truck hits Acre bus stop killing 1, injuring 9

A truck crashed into a bus stop near the Acre train station on Thursday, killing one pedestrian and injuring 9 others. 3 pedestrians were critically injured, 3 were moderately injured and 3 were slightly injured.

MDA paramedics were called to the scene where they treated the injured parties.

Following the accident, the truck's driver fled the scene, but was stopped by police shortly after. Following the preliminary investigation, police announced that the driver was drunk.

Police said that the truck driver purposely plowed into the people and hit several vehicles during the incident. The motive for the driver's actions was unknown.
