Turkey calls for united front of Islamic countries against terrorism

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday urged Islamic countries to stand united against terrorism and violence, calling them the most fundamental problems facing the Muslim world.
Erdogan made the appeal at the start of the two-day Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Istanbul Summit, which has brought together the leaders of more than 30 countries and regions.
"Amongst the OIC member states, we need to establish an organization which will invest further in strengthening the cooperation to fight against terror. The Islamic alliance initiative against terrorism should be used as a tool to fight against the terrorist attacks taking place in the Islamic countries instead of waiting for the intervention of third parties, and we have to produce the solutions to fight against terrorism from within," said Erdogan.
