Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu reiterated on Thursday that Turkey would not upgrade relations with Israel, despite Israel's provision of humanitarian aid in the aftermath of a massive earthquake, Army Radio reported.
"Relations will only improve when Jerusalem will respond to the Turkish government's requests," Davutoglu said. "We distinguish between humanitarian and diplomatic relations."
The first of several civilian planes full of Israeli earthquake relief aid set off for Turkey on Wednesday, filled with
seven prefabricated homes, warm clothes, blankets and mattresses.
