Turkish airspace not used for airdrops over Kobani, says FM

ANKARA - Turkish airspace was not used during airdrops carried out by the United States to support Kurdish fighters defending the Syrian border town of Kobani, a Turkish foreign ministry official said on Monday.
Kobani has been surrounded by Islamic State militants for more than a month, and Turkey has up to now refused calls from Kurdish forces to allow arms to flow through its territory to help the defenders.
